$175 Cheeseburger - Good Idea or Bad?

Oh NYC....

I see you there with your tall buildings, your wonderful culture and hyped up restaurants like Nobu and Burgers and Cupcakes....you are always bringing us great ideas to consume.

Reading the news on MSNBC today, I came across the $175 Burger at The Wall Street Burger Shoppe. Sounds pretty interesting if you didn't have to consider price when you were ordering lunch. For those who don't know - let me list out what you get in your $175 burger:
  • Kobe Beef Patty
  • Brioche Bread
  • Black Truffles
  • Aged Gruyère Cheese
  • Seared Foie Gras
  • Wild Mushrooms
  • Flecks of Gold Leave
Yes that's right people...you get to eat a burger covered in GOLD. Anyway...take away the crazy price, I admit the burger does sound pretty damn good!

Kaupping TV Ads with John Cleese

Although some of these are old, here are some great spots from John Cleese for the Icelandic bank Kaupping. Very creative concepts which include a comedic icon and a brand willing to make fun of itself on multiple occasions. Would love to be able to see any lift or campaign metrics from these spots...

Hulu and Family Guy

Ahh...sharing videos and tv shows online. So many options, but who do you pick??!?! I too was confused between all of the different options until I saw that Hulu had deals with NBC, MGM, Sony and Fox which is pretty good I say. Yes yes, I realize you can view the episodes direct from the networks now or other places, but come on now people - it's the Family Guy's 100th Episode!

World War Z Optioned!

Well hello there little bit of good news...nice to meet ya! Brevitt is on his Nordic adventure still and waiting for a call when thanks to AICN, I came across this little nugget:

Apparently I'm a bit behind on this development, but great to see an amazing book get a solid treatment. Given that it's in the hands of Plan B and J. Michael Straczynski, I'm actually pretty excited that this adaptation won't suck. The book itself was really good and you should check out Brevitt's World War Z review before going out and buying it.

Am I excited for this - hell ya! Read what Moriarty has to say about the first 50-pages alone. This is shaping up to be a great adaptation - let's hope it stays that way!

Castle Crashers Blog

I'm a huge fan of Behemoth and the little games that they put together. Alien Hominid is something everyone should take a stab at and the upcoming Castle Crashers looks to be just as much fun!

The_behemoth_front_image

They recently launched their official blog and there are good tidbits of information there about Castle Crashers, but my favorite post so far is a condensed 30-minute development video that has been reduced to 6-minutes of pure artist fun! Watch as 'Dan Paladin working on the world map for Castle Crashers.'

PS: Make sure to stop by their store and buy some crap!

Random Monday Rambles

Today is a post much ado about nothing really - just a rambling of thoughts. So let's start the show and see what comes out...

  • It's St. Patrick's Day..woohoo! Although it makes me said to hear about what's happening back in Dot, but when you think about it - change is good and hopefully the old timers and new influences make a better neighborhood
  • It's not a whole river in green like Chicago, but I'm eating Pear flavored Skyr for breakfast - the package is green, does that count?
  • Report on 10,000 BC from AICN - blissfully retarded. Report on 10,000 BC from friend in Iceland - worst movie ever made....hmmm?!?!
  • I had a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich for dinner last night. It had cucumbers on it too - I didn't feel good afterwards
  • Dexter is a great book series and it's been fun to watch some of the episodes from Showtime - good stuff
  • My back is hurting - can't wait to get back to the US for my massage therapy appointment
  • Iceland needs a Dunkin Donuts store or five

Well that's it for now kids! Come back later in the day once I have some more time to read up on the latest news from around the webz!

Big Trouble in Little China

I've thinking about starting a new category focused on my favorite movies, but not 100% sold on the idea. I've tried new topics in the past and don't keep up on them, so maybe this is just something that comes up now and then.

Until I figure out what to do on that concept - behold one of the greatest movies of all time! Yes, I'm serious....one of the best movies of all time!

Big Trouble in Little China!

Love Me Sexy - Oh Will Ferrell!

Watch this or Brevitt will track you down and make you rassle a bear!
