I'm a huge fan of Behemoth and the little games that they put together. Alien Hominid is something everyone should take a stab at and the upcoming Castle Crashers looks to be just as much fun!

 

They recently launched their official blog and there are good tidbits of information there about Castle Crashers, but my favorite post so far is a condensed 30-minute development video that has been reduced to 6-minutes of pure artist fun! Zergs...Terrans.....StarCraft II...Oh My!

Oh Hello There Interwebz......

Used to be into RTS games and then fell out of the loop late in the Warcraft series, although I did pick them up as a gift and play through them again - so much fun! Anyway everyone by now should know that StarCraft II is coming out. Cool videos have been popping up the last week or so showing the factions.

Here are two that I enjoyed - nine minute game play of the Terrans and the Zerg introduction!

More Rock Band DLC

Those crazy kids from Cambridge keep pumping out more DLC for Rock Band! The latest two packs have been pretty interesting with so good choices in there, although I'm still waiting for the 18-song Grateful Dead pack.....

Here is what has come out recently:

• Lynyrd Skynyrd - Gimme Three Steps
• Black Crowes - Hard to Handle
• Rush - Limelight
• 30 Seconds To Mars - Attack
• 30 Seconds To Mars - The Kill
• All-American Rejects - Dirty Little Secret
• All-American Rejects - Move Along
• The Sounds - Song With A Mission

Some great choices there, but I'm particularly excited to get my hands on Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rush and The Sounds. Good old Southern Rock tunes are just good music if you ask me, so can't go wrong there. What is there to say about Rush except...oh man! And The Songs - just happen to be one of my current most-listened to bands - great stuff!

So go warm up that guitar kids and get back on stage! Even though your Rock Band exploits have pushed you into the Hall of Fame (go Boro Boys!), there is still a crap load to do in this game....and it's only been out a few months now.

Halo 3 New Maps: Red vs. Blue Version

Halo 3 continues to eat away at my soul, mostly in the form of 12-year old children screaming at me....but when I can cut through the bullshit - it's still a great game to play. Few more levels and I'll wrap up Legendary campaign and then back to multiplayer madness!

Bungie is releasing the first Halo 3 map pack in a few days and they released a sneak peek with the guys over at Red vs. Blue. Kotaku was kind enough to post up the video with comments - so go check out the Halo 3 map pack preview!

Rock Band Has Arrived

Well after doing some covert operations last week, I determined that the best bet to find one was not going to be at Best Buy or Game Stop, but instead at the local Target. I simply walked over at 8am, went to the game counter and grabbed a counter - seriously that easy. It was locked and loaded in the trunk of my car by 8:10.

Tonight I have a feeling that Brevitt's magical world tour will begin!

UPDATE: MC Wink$ has informed me that his copy (picked up at Walmart) is freezing his system! Anyone else have this issue yet or isolated? I'm wishing you well MC Wink$ - get that shit fixed before the Clash DLC pack comes out!

Rock Band DLC List

Back from the woods of NGA where I was stung by a hornet or wasp in the neck - that was fun. While there I got to freshen my chops on Guitar Hero III which was great, but I'm still waiting for Rock Band to come out!

Speaking of which, Gamespot has leaked the schedule of the first round of DLC with come assumed prices as well. Great start and looking like a really diverse set of tunes which is another reason why I think Rock Band will outperform GH III. Not everyone wants to play heavy metal/alternative music yo....throwing in Bowie, The Grateful Dead, CCR and others will make this a much broader appealing product!

Anyway - go check out the list and get ready for next Tuesday!

Iceland, Sox, Rain and More

Few random thoughts for the day:

• Brevitt has landed safely in Iceland as of 6:30 this morning thanks to the pilots of Icelandair who had favorable winds and decided to fly at 700mph. Although I arrived an hour earlier than I was supposed to, my driver was waiting for me which was good and away we went.
• The Hotel Cabin should be named the Hotel Closet - it has by far the smallest rooms I've ever seen.
• The Boston Red Sox won 13-1 last night! I'm excited for the team, but bummed that I'll be in Iceland the entire Series and won't be able to catch any of the action.
• It's been rainy here for days and it doesn't look like it will end anytime soon - sweet!
• I'm missing a lot of things about home right now, so looking forward to getting back to the States once this trip is wrapped up.
• The Lord and MC Winks are becoming quite good at Halo 3.
• Magic the Gathering is meant for people over the age of 13, but my deck will still kick that crap out of The Lord's deck!

Well that's it for now - it's a bit crazy with little sleep and so much going on, but check back in soon kids as I start to post a bit more.

Tattoo Ideas Gone Bad

Great article I found this morning on Game|Life and Gamer Help covering the Top 30 WORST Gaming Tattoos - it's a must read!

I personally like a few of them, although I would never put them on my body. Obviously seeing that I'm halfway through my own massive piece I'm a fan of tattoos, but for some reason getting gaming related artwork never appealed to me.

#26 - I'll say this, the guy is using a high quality artist and it's really well laid out, just not my style.

#13 - Ok, maybe this guy is really cool and fun to be around, but this picture is fucking hilarious!

Free Time Much?

After delaying logging onto Xbox Live for a little Halo 3, I finally made the plunge over the weekend. Please note that if you have no idea what I just said - this post probably isn't for you....haha!

Anyway, the first few rounds were ok, but a little rough. Although the controls are close enough to Halo 2, it's more about knowing the maps you are on. Success usually doesn't depend on team strength, but who controls the power weapons and choke points. Any noob can throw a grenade and launch a missile into the only entrance to a base. Overall there were some good matches and I progressed up to Sargent before the weekend was over which isn't too bad.

During one of my matches though I came across another player that had already logged over 600 Halo 3 matches! If that number wasn't enough to make me scratch my head, I checked out his profile and the guy had 18,500 achievement points! Now, I'm all for having fun and trying out new games.....but 18,500 points?

I would have mocked him and suggested he get outside a bit more, but I was too busy running away from his Battle Rifle shots like a little girl!
