MMMMM....The Sounds

I mentioned The Sounds awhile back, but every time they come up on my Pandora channel or on my iPod, I always turn up the volume a weeee bit more. To celebrate that, here is one of my favorites. Enjoy 'Painted by Numbers' from The Sounds!

More Rock Band DLC

Those crazy kids from Cambridge keep pumping out more DLC for Rock Band! The latest two packs have been pretty interesting with so good choices in there, although I'm still waiting for the 18-song Grateful Dead pack.....

Here is what has come out recently:

• Lynyrd Skynyrd - Gimme Three Steps
• Black Crowes - Hard to Handle
• Rush - Limelight
• 30 Seconds To Mars - Attack
• 30 Seconds To Mars - The Kill
• All-American Rejects - Dirty Little Secret
• All-American Rejects - Move Along
• The Sounds - Song With A Mission

Some great choices there, but I'm particularly excited to get my hands on Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rush and The Sounds. Good old Southern Rock tunes are just good music if you ask me, so can't go wrong there. What is there to say about Rush except...oh man! And The Songs - just happen to be one of my current most-listened to bands - great stuff!

So go warm up that guitar kids and get back on stage! Even though your Rock Band exploits have pushed you into the Hall of Fame (go Boro Boys!), there is still a crap load to do in this game....and it's only been out a few months now.

Pick It Up: Yo Gabba Gabba!

I honestly can't get enough of Yo Gabba Gabba! I'm convinced that the writers are all smoking crack and/or enjoying the reefer madness when they develop new skits.....With that in mind, I found this new gem while taking a Tubez break earlier today.

It combines some of my favorite things:

• Mini Rudies - look how cute those kids are!
• Rudie Dad - Literally an animated Laurel Aitken
• Skankin - a show on Nick Jr is teaching kids how to dance the forbidden dance...that in itself is pretty damn sweet!
• Aquabats - the only 3rd Wave band I really enjoyed. See if you can figure out what the Aquabats reference in the video is

Cherry Chocolate Rain: Tay Zonday!

Sweet lord of all good things - have you SEEN this new video from Tay Zonday?!?!?

The master of Chocolate Rain has teamed up with Dr. Pepper to put together a video advertisement for the new Dr. Pepper Cherry Chocolate flavor. I'm going to gloss over the fact of how disgusting the drink flavor sounds and go straight to Tay Zonday - wtf is up with this shit?!?!

Good for him to earn some cash and I'm sure it's hard to tie in Chocolate Rain to any product outside of the bathroom variety, but this video is all shades of funny!

Rock Band Has Arrived

Well after doing some covert operations last week, I determined that the best bet to find one was not going to be at Best Buy or Game Stop, but instead at the local Target. I simply walked over at 8am, went to the game counter and grabbed a counter - seriously that easy. It was locked and loaded in the trunk of my car by 8:10.

Tonight I have a feeling that Brevitt's magical world tour will begin!

UPDATE: MC Wink$ has informed me that his copy (picked up at Walmart) is freezing his system! Anyone else have this issue yet or isolated? I'm wishing you well MC Wink$ - get that shit fixed before the Clash DLC pack comes out!

MC Frontalot in Boston

Dear People of Boston,

The one and only MC Frontalot is playing this weekend at Harper's Ferry - you need to go. Or at least the cool people that like Nerdcore need to go. This guy puts on fun shows and even though his music is mostly gaming and other geeky things - the guy can still spit lyrics.
